Code of Conduct
Chaos Orcs Fest Code of Conduct for both Discord and IRL Tournaments
At Chaos Orcs Fest, we aim to create a friendly, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all players, volunteers, and participants. Our community thrives on the values of good sportsmanship, fairness, and camaraderie. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations we have for all participants to ensure that everyone can enjoy the tournaments in a positive and respectful atmosphere.
Our Values
- Sportsmanship – Win or lose, we expect all participants to conduct themselves with integrity, respect, and humility.
- Inclusivity – Chaos Orcs Fest is for everyone, regardless of background, identity, or skill level. All are welcome to participate and have fun.
- Friendliness – We encourage friendly banter and positive interactions, both in and out of matches.
- Respect – Treat all players, volunteers, and staff with kindness and respect, both in person and online. Avoid negative language, hostility, or aggressive behavior.
Tournament Etiquette
Respect Your Opponent
- Congratulate and Acknowledge: Win or lose, shake hands (or offer a fist bump) after a match. Offer congratulations or thanks for a fun game.
- Avoid Disparaging Remarks: Do not insult or belittle your opponent or their plays, regardless of the outcome of the game.
- No Gloating: Humility in victory is just as important as grace in defeat. Avoid bragging or rubbing in your win.
Play Fair
- Follow the Rules: Adhere to the official Magic: The Gathering rules and the tournament guidelines. Cheating, manipulating cards, or dishonest play will not be tolerated.
- Own Your Mistakes: If an error is made during gameplay, be honest about it and work with a judge or your opponent to resolve it.
Communication
- Clear and Polite Communication: Clearly state your actions during the game, and be respectful in your tone. Conflicts or confusion over the game’s mechanics should be resolved by asking a judge politely.
- Stay Calm: If a disagreement arises, remain calm and composed. Aggressive or hostile behavior will not be tolerated.
Respect the Venue
- Keep It Clean: Treat the venue and equipment with care. Clean up after yourself, and dispose of trash properly.
- No Disruption: Refrain from shouting, loud noises, or distractions that could disturb other players during matches.
Help Foster a Friendly Environment
- Encourage Others: Support fellow participants and celebrate good plays, regardless of the outcome.
- Be Welcoming: Newcomers and inexperienced players should feel welcome. Take the time to explain plays or game mechanics if needed and create a supportive learning atmosphere.
- Be Considerate: Give space for different playstyles, approaches, and personalities. We’re here to have fun, together.

Chaos Orcs Fest maintains a zero-tolerance policy for the following:
- Harassment: Verbal abuse, bullying, discrimination, or any form of harassment based on age, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or other personal attributes will not be tolerated.
- Cheating: Manipulating decks, lying about card interactions, or other forms of cheating will result in immediate disqualification.
- Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Gloating, trash-talking, or attempting to intimidate opponents is strictly prohibited.
